All International Training Network online courses take place on our online 'learning zone' which is easy and fun to use. One of the key features of the learning zone is the opportunity it provides to interact with other participants through 'postings' on discussion boards or 'forums'. Every participant is assigned a tutor who is available throughout the course for advice and support, and provides feedback on assignments. Our online courses may be taken individually, working at your own pace. Alternatively, you may wish to find a group of friends (who may or may not live near each other) and enrol and work online together as a group. If members of a group are in the same location they can supplement this by meeting face-to-face for discussion and project work together. Everyone who joins an online course automatically becomes a member of our Network Online community. This allows free, permanent access to an online zone where you can continue to interact with others. The zone also contains ideas and resources for classroom activities and information about English teaching opportunities worldwide. TESOL PRACTICAL TOOLKIT COURSE (30 – 40 hours) Topics covered:
The 'TESOL Practical Toolkit' course makes use of a published teacher training book: 'Learning to Teach English' by Peter Watkin. This is supplemented by a variety of learning materials such as resource sheets, quizzes and video clips of classroom teaching (these can be viewed online or via a CD ROM). An important aspect of the course is the use of tasks, enabling you to consolidate your understanding of the techniques and activities introduced. In addition, some English teaching activities are suggested for you to try out with your English-speaking or international friends. Each unit includes one or two short assignments which are marked by your online tutor. You are encouraged to carry out the course within two to four months, although this is flexible to some degree. An International Training Network certificate is awarded to those who complete the course. For further details and an application form, email us at info@itnuk.com Note: a one-week face-to-face teaching practice course: 'The Classroom Experience' is available for those who wish to supplement the online course with some teaching practice and are able to come to Bournemouth in the U.K. THE CHRISTIAN TEACHER: ISSUES AND ACTIVITIES This module of the Practical Toolkit course is available as a separate course and is suitable for both new and experienced teachers who wish to explore their unique role as Christian teachers of English.
